Prepared by And Ward for Farquhar's Boxing — ready to replace the placeholder "About the Coaches" page. Two lengths each; edit to taste.
Front‑door fix · Meet the coaches
Your coach bios — written & ready
Right now your About page still shows the WordPress default: "This is an example of an about page." That's hiding the best thing you've got — the family and the pedigree. Here are real bios for all four coaches: a short version for website cards, and a full version for the About page.
A couple of things to confirm before publishing: Bobby's own bio is a draft — we don't have your coaching background on record, so fill in the blanks in your voice. Full surnames, coaching grades and years‑with‑gym are worth adding. And we've deliberately left Adrian's health story out — it's powerful, but it's his to share, only with his say‑so.
BF
Bobby Farquhar
Founder & Head Coach
Short — for a website card
The founder, the father, and the heart of the gym. Bobby built Farquhar's into a home for every level of Canberra boxer — from first‑timers finding their feet to fighters chasing the ring.
Full — for the About page
Bobby Farquhar is the founder of Farquhar's Boxing and the reason it feels like a family the moment you walk in. He started the gym to give Canberra a genuine, welcoming boxing club — a place where a nervous beginner and a serious competitor can train under the same roof and both feel at home. Alongside his son Adrian, Bobby has built a club known as much for its people as its punching, and he's still there most nights, coaching, encouraging, and making sure everyone gets a fair go. [Add: Bobby's own boxing/coaching background — years in the sport, what got him started.]
Confirm: Bobby's boxing/coaching history to replace the bracketed line.
AF
Adrian Farquhar
Co‑owner · Professional Boxer · Level 1 Coach
Champion
Short — for a website card
The son, the co‑owner, and the gym's competition centrepiece. An Australian junior champion who boxed on the world stage and turned professional in Ireland — now coaching at home in Mitchell.
Full — for the About page
Adrian Farquhar co‑owns Farquhar's Boxing with his father Bobby, and his story is the proof behind everything we say. He started boxing as a kid and, while still at Lyneham High, won an Australian junior title — going on to represent Australia at the junior world titles in Ukraine and boxing across Europe, with around 30 wins from 36 amateur bouts. He then signed a professional contract in Dublin, fighting at welterweight. Today Adrian is a Level 1 coach passing all of it on — to complete beginners and aspiring competitors alike. When you train at Farquhar's, this is the coaching you get access to.
Note: health/comeback story intentionally omitted — add only with Adrian's explicit approval.

Full — for the About page
Troy Huckstepp brings something rare to a local club: he's the President of the Boxing ACT committee, helping shape the future of amateur boxing across the region. Troy came to boxing to stay fit after finishing his rugby career, has been training since 2011, and began competing in the Masters division in 2017 — so he knows exactly what it feels like to start something new as an adult. A Level 1 accredited coach, he specialises in welcoming beginners and delivers our introductory classes for schoolkids. If you've never thrown a punch in your life, Troy is the kind of coach who makes that completely okay.

Now a qualified Level 1 coach, he uses that experience to meet people exactly where they are: teaching beginners the fundamentals with patience, and working alongside more experienced boxers as they prepare for competition. Chris is proof that a Farquhar's journey can start with "I just want to get fit" and go as far as you want to take it.
